These paintings are constantly changing. When I am working on more detailed, process driven work, I need time to loosen up and sometimes release energy. The result of this energy is purely carthartic, but often times can show new avenues in the way paint moves and can be applied. If I have any extra pigment, I often use it up on these practice paintings.
